Liquid probiotics or soft chews?

Compare Vetara Pets Probiotic Gut Support Drops with our Probiotic Soft Chews. The drops are labeled for dogs and cats; the soft chews are for dogs only. They have different formulas and serving units.

For cats: The liquid drops are the cat-labeled option in this comparison. Do not use the dog soft-chew serving guide for a cat.

For dogs: Compare the ingredients and the serving format your dog will reliably take. Neither format is automatically better for every dog.

Does 6 Billion CFU mean the chews are better?

The listed amounts use different units: 1 mL of drops versus 2 chews. Your pet’s daily serving also depends on weight. These numbers alone do not establish which formula will be more suitable or effective for your pet. Do not convert a number of chews into a dropper amount.

How much would my pet take each day?

Use the serving guide for the product you choose. The current label-based guides are:

Product Weight range Daily serving
Liquid drops
Dogs & cats
Up to 10 lb 0.5 mL
Over 10–20 lb 1 mL
21–35 lb 2 mL
Over 35 lb 3 mL
Soft chews
Dogs only
Up to 10 lb 1 chew
11–39 lb 2 chews
40–79 lb 3 chews
80 lb and over 4 chews

For the drops, shake well and administer orally with the dropper; a full dropper is 1 mL. For the soft chews, the product directions say to begin with half the suggested amount and gradually increase. Follow your bottle or jar label and do not exceed its suggested daily amount. Ask your veterinarian if your pet’s weight falls between listed ranges.

How long does one pack last?

A 60 mL bottle lasts approximately 120 days at 0.5 mL daily, 60 days at 1 mL, 30 days at 2 mL, or 20 days at 3 mL. A jar of 120 chews lasts approximately 120, 60, 40 or 30 days at 1, 2, 3 or 4 chews daily. These are pack-size calculations, not guaranteed results.

Can I use both formats together?

This comparison does not recommend combining them or substituting servings. Ask your veterinarian before adding or combining supplements, especially for pets taking medication, with a health condition, or that are pregnant or nursing. Persistent symptoms need veterinary advice.
